FAQs

Please read our FAQs to find out more.

Is this wash mitt better than microfibre?

Yes. The deep wool fibres are designed to lift and hold contamination away from paint, reducing friction and the risk of micro-scratches compared to flat synthetic fibres.

Why is merino wool better than synthetic wash mitts?

Merino wool is naturally softer and more gentle on paintwork than synthetic materials. Its superior absorbency holds more water and soap, providing better lubrication to prevent scratches. Natural wool fibres are also more durable and eco-friendly than synthetic alternatives.

Will this scratch my car's paint?

No! Merino wool is one of the safest materials for car washing. The ultra-soft natural fibres are incredibly gentle and won't cause swirl marks or scratches when used properly with adequate lubrication and the two-bucket wash method.

How long will this wash mitt last?

With proper care, a quality merino wool wash mitt can last for years. The natural wool fibres are incredibly resilient and actually become softer with use. Replace the mitt when you notice significant thinning or if fibres start to break down.

Does it mitt shed fibres?

Some initial loose fibres are normal. Once broken in, shedding stabilises. This does not affect performance.

Can I machine wash this mitt?

We don't recommend machine washing as it can damage the natural wool fibres and reduce the mitt's lifespan. Hand washing and air drying will keep your mitt in optimal condition for years.

Is the wool safe for all paint types?

Yes. When used with proper lubrication (plant-based shampoo and generous water), it is safe for all modern clearcoats including black, dark, and premium finishes.

Does this work on all paint types?

Yes! Merino wool is safe for all automotive paint finishes including clear coat, single-stage paint, matte finishes, wraps, and PPF (paint protection film). It's gentle enough for the most delicate surfaces.
